Butchery & Cookery Courses
We run our popular courses throughout the year from our traditional butchers shop and purpose built kitchen in the centre of Kintbury. The evening courses (6.30pm- 9.30pm) are suitable for all ages and abilities. Each course has a class size of no more than six so there is plenty of one-to-one teaching as well as demonstrations and participation. The cost of each evening course is £75 per person.
So come and join us for a fun and informative evening. We can also arrange a bespoke butchery or cookery event if you want a special evening with your friends. Or why not treat someone to a course? It's an ideal gift!

The Shop
Opened in 2008, our shop is a traditional family butchers in the centre of the delightful riverside village of Kintbury, midway between Newbury and Hungerford in West Berkshire. From here we offer a wide range of locally sourced and seasonal produce.
The Kitchen
Our purpose-built kitchen provides our shop and other local retailers with a variety of freshly prepared and frozen products including handmade pies, delicious prepared meals, and numerous other tempting sweet and savoury items. See details of our other catering services on our Kitchen page.
Family Farming
The Bastable family has been farming in Berkshire and North Hampshire for over 50 years, with tenant farming expanding into contract and share farming, owner occupation and general agricultural contracting. Latterly, environmental schemes have become increasingly important as the farming operation has expanded.
